Mentoring HE 2006-07

After the overwhelming success of the Mentoring HE pilot project, the University of Portsmouth and Southampton Solent University have decided to join forces again and offer this exciting opportunity to more students.

Mentoring HE is a project for black and ethnic minority UK-domiciled students. As before we need your support, as this exciting programme of partnership and positive action can only operate with the help of people (like you) willing to volunteer as mentors.

Rationale behind the scheme:  Research has shown that black & ethnic minority UK students have to attend twice as many interviews before they secure a job on graduating, compared with their white counterparts. Mentoring HE is designed to tackle this by supporting and preparing these students for the graduate labour market.
