There is an invaluable government website providing information on disability. It is simply called Disability and can be found at www.disability.gov.uk.

On this site you can, for example, view information on the two Acts of Parliament which introduce and provide a means of enforcing rights preventing discrimination against disabled people: - The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and The Disability Rights Commission (DRC) Act 1999.

For a simple explanation of the rights and duties which the DDA introduced you might like to read this overview of the Disability Discrimination Act, published by the Disability Rights Commission.
